Getting to Know You & Us
Who is Valhalla Track Club?
We are a Non-Profit organization solely aiming to support all Past, Present, and Future Viewmont High School Cross County AND Track & Field Athletes. We do this by organizing activities, hosting fundraisers, donating money and supplies to these organizations, and hosting travel for athletes to compete at regional and national Cross Country and Track & Field meets.
We have a firm belief in and we diligently practice our Club Motto - Work Hard & Play Hard!
What do we expect from you?

General Calendar and Annual Cycle for these Teams
General Practice days and times -
Summer - Cross Country Training
Athletes who are entering 9th-12th Grade will officially begin the summer session on the last Monday in June, 6:30 AM at Viewmont High's Track.
Athletes who are entering 7th & 8th Grade in the fall are invited to join with the Cross Country team after Independence Day until the first Saturday in August when we will finish the summer session with the Travis Thurgood Memorial Run. Practices for 7th & 8th Graders will be held at 6:30 AM each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings (we will not meet on July 24th)
Fall - Cross Country Regular Season
The Regular Season starts when school starts - usually mid-August with meets nearly weekly through October. Practices during this time will typically be held after school, with some potentially held before school. Our Region Meet is held near the beginning of October and State near the end of October.
We also aim to send at least a portion of the team to Nike Cross Regionals, aka NXR, held each November the Saturday before Thanksgiving near Phoenix, AZ. If the Varsity teams qualify to race in the championship section and place in the top 2 or 3 then they can qualify to advance to Nike Cross Nationals, aka NXN, held the first weekend of December in Portland, OR.
Winter
Indoor Track Season - not an official High School Sport season - practices are held, but no official meets under the school. All indoor meets are Club Organized or independently attended by athletes.
Spring - BY GROUP
